I guess I really never truly appreciated the value of a "home-cooked meal" until i left for college and many other things too for that reason. This weekend is the All-Star weekend down in "Wacko" and so just about everyone got the opportunity to go back home for a couple of days and relax and catch up on some sleep. I was looking forward to eating my favorite meal of grill chicken stuffed with jalapeno cheese with green beans and mash potatoes. What iv'e realized so far about college is that alot of the information and learning is all online yet somehow I still have to go to class. That is why I found myself at home this weekend watrching college football and working on homework to turn in before it was late. What happened to the good ole fashion assignments on paper? I mean I know when I get back into my dorm the odds of me going to my computer and actually doing work on there are not as likely as they would be if it was on paper. Nonetheless I haven't missed a class yet. I injured my elbow during the later part of last fall and I realized it till the end of the spring. I fractured a small bone in the medial side of my elbow and kept me out cold from baseball for almost three months. For me, that's the worst because nothing you do besides rest will help you come back faster. And of course I take many "shots" from my teammates about it because of the duration of the injury and the length it took to recover. But when you think about it does it make any sense to try an rush back for fall season or for any other reason at that? No. Throwing is an unnatural motion and every player has a number amount of times that he will be able to do it, so my question is why throw now when/ if you don't feel 100% yet. I mean kids will always joke and poke fun at it simply because many are not educated enough on the type of injury. But I knew my body and I wasn't going to risk coming back a couple weeks earlier and then suffer even longer damages down the road. I'll leave y'all with a quote that a saw recently.

We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have already done
-Henry Longfellow

  1. Great blog. Liked how the school got a student's perspective on campus life. Look forward to your future blogs.
