New Year...New Beginnings
Out with the old, in with the new...An overly used cliche or an expression that fits the circumstance? As a senior last year i could not wait to finally graduate from high school and move on to what i have heard as "the best years of your life" at college. Then summer came and passed, and as August approached it finally soaked in to me that I was actually leaving. Leaving the school that I had attended over all the years. Leaving all of my friends that i had made during that time. Leaving the memories that had been made with my friends. But most of all I would be leaving a place where everything is secure, a place where life had its seasonal changes every year. Despite all that I still found myself excited and ready for the new challenges that were awaiting me at college due to mainly one thing...college baseball. And better yet for the Juco National Champions Howard Hawks. Ever since I can remember I have always been playing sports and when one of my first words was "ball" I knew that I wanted to go and pursue my dream. It wasn't until my sophomore year in high school that I actually started to pitch and once I did I knew right then that I wanted to play this game at the next level. But back to right now. So many people enter college with the anxiety of living with someone that they have never known before, or the realization of finally being given the reigns to your own responsibility to do whatever you please. But knowing that I was going to play college baseball kind of eased all of that on me. I knew that I was going to have the opportunity to continue to play the sport that feeds the competitive fire inside of me to will myself to do my very best on each given day in order to get better as an athlete and person. Oh and as far as the expression...I think it fits my glove just fine.
